In memory of Steven Harris

.
.
Early this morning I received a text from anonymous number, said...

"Just to inform you that our dear beloved Steven had involved with an accident tonight and has passed away around 1am. The cottage leaves the resident at 1pm and the funeral will be held at Hammersmith by 2pm."-Steve's family-

Steven was in my class, the same course as i am. A cool guy with tall and pretty handsome features and perhaps a heavy drinker. With the piercing and tattoos all over him, u won’t believe that he was actually afraid of lizard. heh.

Almost everyday, me, him and the rest of our gang hanging at Green Park which is one of our favourite places in London. Laughing, teasing and sharing everything.

Besides cool, he was also funny, caring and he did respect everyone. As he knows me and some of our friends are Muslims and we are fasting during this Ramadhan, he never drinks, eat or smoke in front of us...

Man, I guess, you are one of the best that I ever have.

On his last evening with us, he did ask me...

"Merq, Let's go to Soho tonight, It will be your first time right?!, we go for clubbing, and don't worry, I'll treat you for drinks"

And I said,
"I'm sorry man, I had worked to do, A bit busy recently"

Suddenly he replied...

"It’s ok, no worries. This is most probably the last for me to go for clubbing. I feel like changing!". And then he came out with a meaningful smile which I couldn't understand.

It was really your "last" Steve...

I was at his funeral just now and I was thinking, one can deceased with no alarm. Today he is with you and tomorrow he may out of reach..far...

It’s only a matter of time. since the first day you were born, your time to leave the world has been decided. Never too early or neither too late. I really don't know how to react. He was also sitting beside me in class for god sake.

And after the funeral, me, eddie, nuar, henry, faeza, sarah, faiza and julia went to Green Park. Looking at his favourite spot to sit which is under a big tree that offer a full great view of the park, we suddenly been touched by a really sad feeling. We then walked through the park, sit under that big tree which Steve always said "our natural umbrella”, I realize, those silentness and sadness were surrounding us.
....
Speechless, blind.
We know we were missing someone, and days onwards, I guess, nothing will be like
it used to be here....

Will be missing your favourite quote when you teased me man....
“merq, please, please, please....save my soul!"
(big laugh)

And when I saw the same silhouette that I saw everyday been brought down into his final resting place, I was like...
"This is it"
"Rest in peace mate"

There goes our cool guy.
